Summary:The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for the treatment or alleviation of arthritis or for the protection of joints, wherein the pharmaceutical composition comprises, as two active ingredients, aceclofenac or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof; and a composite medicinal herb extract including Clematis mandshurica, Trichosanthes kirilowii and Prunella vulgaris. The present invention can remarkably increase a treatment effect and an alleviation effect on arthritis by administering the two active ingredients simultaneously. Particularly, the two active ingredients can have excellent effects even in low doses. Therefore, the present invention has the great advantage of reducing side effects which can occur when each active ingredient is separately administered in a high dose.
