Summary:The present invention relates to a bank system and method for issuing a virtual account online by a depositor, comprising the steps of: receiving copies of evidential documents required for opening an account and a virtual account ID from a client terminal; when authenticity or reliability of the copies of the evidential documents is verified, providing information regarding an approval result of an account opening to the client terminal; when at least one pre-existing account number of the client, who received the notification on the approval result of the account opening, exists, matching the virtual account ID identifying the virtual account received from the client terminal and the existing account of the client, and storing the same; and providing the matching result to the client terminal or a financial transaction server.
