Summary:The present invention relates to a device and a method for examining pupillary reflex for a smartphone. The method of the present invention includes the steps of: generating a pupillary reflex examination request signal in correspondence to a user operation when a pupillary reflex examination application for a smartphone is executed; generating a camera control signal and a flash control signal by a control unit according to the examination request signal; operating a camera according to predetermined photographing conditions in correspondence to the camera control signal; operating flash according to predetermined light control conditions in correspondence to a driving signal in a timer which is operated according to the flash control signal; analyzing, by the control unit, pupillary changes for an image photographed by the camera; and processing analysis results to a display signal by the control unit. According to the present invention, the pupillary reflex examination can be conveniently carried out by using the camera and the flash of the smartphone. Furthermore, the changes in a pupillary size can be quantitatively identified by obtaining and analyzing the image.
