Summary:The present invention relates to a high-power lithium secondary battery and, more particularly, to a lithium secondary battery comprising: a cathode wherein a cathode mixture including a phosphate compound containing lithium with an olivine-type crystal structure as a cathode active material is applied on top of a cathode current collector, an anode wherein an anode mixture including a carbon-based material as an anode active material is applied on top of an anode current collector, a separation membrane, and an electrolyte. The lithium-containing phosphate compound is composed of primary particles with an average particle diameter (D50) of 50 to 600 nm or a mixture of the primary particles and secondary particles with an average particle diameter (D50) of 5 to 60 μm, which are made by coagulating the primary particles. The cathode current collector has at least one surface coated with a conductive material for improving the contact of the primary particles, and the compositions of the primary particles and the secondary particles are represented by chemical formula 1, Li_(1+a)M_(1-x)M′_x(PO_4-b)X_b, wherein M, M′, X, a, and b are as defined in the specification.
