The present invention relates to an apparatus for controlling media devices in a car and a method thereof. According to the present invention, the apparatus for controlling the media devices in the car comprises: a data storage part for storing an execution history of the media device linked with time band information according to position information of the car as data; a position detecting part for detecting a current position and time of the car; and a device controller detecting the execution history of at least one media device corresponding to the current position and time by referring to the stored data and driving the devices according to the execution history. Accordingly, the apparatus for controlling the media devices in the car and the method thereof are capable of controlling driving of an audio, a video, a navigation and a telematics device based on the position and time band of the car and information on passengers, and driving the devices under a condition with a similar pattern in the past, thereby having an advantage of conveniently and effectively operating the media devices.
