Summary:The present invention relates to a method of configuring a set of radio access network (RAN) parameters including discontinuous reception (DRX) configurations for user equipment in a wireless networking system. The method includes a step of determining traffic characteristics associated with the user equipment based on the number and the types of applications running in the user equipment. The method further includes a step of modifying and updating the DRX configurations and the RAN parameters for different situations of wireless transmission and reception.
