Summary:The present invention relates to an electrochemical cell. The electro-chemical cell includes an anode (20) which is in contact with an anode current collector (16); a cathode (22) which is in contact with a cathode current collector (18); and a separator (24) which is placed between the anode (20) and the cathode (22). The anode (20) is placed between the separator (24) and the anode current collector (16). The cathode (22) is placed between the separator (24) and the cathode current collector (18). The anode current collector (160) and the cathode current collector (18) form an encapsulating housing (28) for the assembly of the anode (20), the cathode (22), and the separator (24).
