Summary:The present invention relates to a navigation system comprising a GPS receiving unit, a navigation unit, a sensor unit, a communication unit, and a control unit. The GPS receiving unit is installed in a vehicle and measures the position information of the vehicle based on signals received from GPS satellites. The navigation unit generates image signals which display the position information of the vehicle and map information. The sensor unit is installed inside the vehicle and senses deformation inside the vehicle by using the impact of the vehicle when an accident of the vehicle is generated. The communication unit transmits the position information of the vehicle to a wireless receiving unit of a rescue center through a wireless communication network. The control unit transmits the position information of the vehicle to the wireless receiving unit of the rescue center through the communication unit when the deformation inside the vehicle is sensed through the sensor unit. The navigation system is provided to automatically transmit vehicle information to the rescue center when the accident of the vehicle is generated, thereby enabling a passenger to receive a rescue service even through the passenger loses senses.
