Summary: | The present invention relates to a storage tank and a hull of a liquefied gas carrier transporting LNG or LPG and, more specifically, a structure of a single side plate which is provided to maximize storage capacity, and an upper shape of the storage tank which is provided to cushion sloshing impact due to the free surface stream of gas inside the liquefied gas storage tank. The hull construction of an LNG carrier according to the present invention comprises: a bottom unit having a double hull construction composed of an outer hull (14) and an inner hull; a side plate unit having a single hull structure composed of an outer hull (13); an upper deck unit having a topside wing tank arranged on the upper side edge thereof and a single hull formed on the center thereof; and a liquefied gas storage tank inside the hull which is a stand-alone tank composed of main barriers (100, 110, 120) and an insulation layer (54) surrounding the outsides of the main barriers (100, 110, 120) and which has a secondary barrier (56) on the bottom unit thereof to prevent a gas leak due to undetected cracks of the main barriers (100, 110, 120). |
