Summary:Disclosed in the present invention are an apparatus and a method for separating the upper plate of a box. The apparatus for separating the upper plate of a box comprises: a main frame which includes a crane fixating unit to be connected with a crane; a width direction fork which supports the upper plate of a box in a width direction for fixation; and a longitudinal direction fork which supports the upper plate in a longitudinal direction for fixation. The apparatus disassembles the upper plate in a state of supporting and fixating the upper plate from four sides. In addition, the method for separating the upper plate of a box operates to widen a gap between the width direction fork and the longitudinal direction fork after cutting a side of the upper plate of a box and positioning the main frame connected with the crane through the crane fixating unit to the upper part of the upper plate. Then, the method operates to fasten the width direction fork to the longitudinal direction fork while adjusting the position of the main frame using the crane. Then, the method elevates the main frame using the crane in order to remove the upper plate. Therefore, the apparatus and the method can perform safe work and reduce damage to products, can prevent muscular skeletal diseases by removing the need of direct disassembling work of a worker, and can secure reliability of a ship owner in the disassembling work.
