Summary:An apparatus for tracking a parameter of a solar battery calculates a start voltage and a voltage variation (ΔV), and determines a scan direction, based on a measured open voltage (Voc). Then, the corresponding apparatus tracks an optimum output point of maximum power, by performing a scan operation of measuring voltage-power characteristics of a solar battery module, as changing a voltage value from the start voltage in the unit of the voltage variation, along the scan direction. The start voltage can be obtained by decreasing the open voltage by a constant ratio according to the value of a pre-set ratio variable (Ratio). The voltage variation can be obtained by dividing the open voltage by a fixed constant (K). The ratio variable may have a fixed value between 0.85 and 0.95. Therefore, the apparatus and the method of the present invention can assure an electrical parameter required in performance evaluation rapidly by reducing time required in measuring the output characteristics of the solar battery module, and thus can improve efficiency and economic feasibility of a measurement work.
