Summary:The present invention provides a method and a system for providing calendar services in a universal plug and play (UPnP) home network environment. In one embodiment, a method includes creating a calendar event in an UPnP home network environment when a request for setting the calendar event is received by a telephony server (TS) from one of telephony control points (TelCPs) in the UPnP home network environment. The method further includes notifying the creation of calendar event to the TelCPs in the UPnP home network environment. The method also includes determining whether the created calendar event has met pre-defined conditions, and triggering a notification indicating that the calendar event has met the pre-defined conditions to the TelCPs when the calendar event meets the pre-defined conditions. Additionally, the method includes modifying/deleting the calendar event when a request for modifying/deleting the calendar event is received from said one of the TelCPs.
