Summary:The present invention relates to remote control device and method. The method includes a step of transmitting a device selection signal by responding to user voice recognition or key input; a step of receiving a response signal from a control targeting device which has received the device selection signal; a step of identifying the control targeting device using the response signal; a step of selecting one device from a plurality of the identified control targeting devices by recognizing user's voice; and a step of producing a remote control signal using device controlling information corresponding to the identified control targeting device and transmitting it to the control targeting device.
