Summary:Provided is an ultrasonic diagnosis device capable of controlling the width of an ultrasonic beam in order to secure the quality of an image including a puncture needle and further to include a puncture needle clearly. The device includes: an ultrasonic probe (2) which has a plurality of ultrasonic vibrators in the elevation direction; a beam former which forms ultrasonic receiving beams by adding echo signals received from each ultrasonic vibrator with delays and controls the delay time for the addition to form ultrasonic receiving beams (RBM1, RBM2) having different widths in the elevation direction on one transmitting and receiving plane; and a display control unit which displays a synthetic image obtained based on the ultrasonic receiving beams.
