Summary:The present technique relates to a gradually operated emergency stop equipment for a two-way elevator and more specifically, to a gradually operated emergency stop equipment for a two-way elevator, which is capable of being connected to a rope on a speed regulator and stopping an elevator by friction with a guide rail of the elevator if the speed regulator is operated due to overspeed driving. In the gradually operated emergency stop equipment for a two-way elevator of the present invention comprising guide rails, a frame, drive shafts, buffer plates, and buffer links, the gradually operated emergency stop equipment for a two-way elevator comprises: an antisymmetric wedged brake block disposed inside the buffer plate with one side attached to the buffer plate, and the other side having a groove thereon such that a roller can roll; a bar-type wedge block with one side having an antisymmetric wedge shape corresponding to the antisymmetric wedge of the brake block, and the other side having a flat surface so as to apply friction to the guide rail in an emergency; and a roller retainer with one side disposed on the groove of the brake block such that the roller rolls, and the other side having rollers formed in a row such that the wedge block rolls up and down along the roller; and a wedge operating lever having bar-shaped arms connected to each of the wedge blocks, and a hollow cylindrical body in which a drive shaft is inserted, wherein the drive shaft connects each of the wedge blocks blocks such the wedge blocks are hinge-coupled around the drive shaft to move up and down.
