Summary: | The present invention relates to an automatic fork control apparatus of a forklift, automatically moving a fork of a forklift to a task position of each pallet when loading/unloading pallets on a shelf frame having multiple shelves with the forklift, and a control method thereof. The automatic fork control apparatus of a forklift according to the present invention is an automatic fork control apparatus of a forklift loading/unloading pallets by moving a fork of the forklift up and down, and back and forth through controlling a hydraulic apparatus. The automatic fork control apparatus of a forklift according to the present invention comprises a first reflective plate installed on a part of the forklift; a laser distance sensor installed to face to the first reflective plate and measuring the distance to the first reflective plate by using laser transmittance to the first reflective plate; a storage storing each distance from a preset reference position on the shelf frame with multiple shelves to the task position of pallets on each shelf; a shelf number setting unit setting the number of shelves to perform the loading/unloading task of pallets; and a control unit controlling the hydraulic apparatus to move the fork according to the number of shelves set in the shelf number setting unit, and controlling the hydraulic apparatus to stop the movement of the fork when the moving distance of the fork calculated by using the distance to the firs reflective plate measured in the laser distance sensor reaches the distance to the pallet task position on the input number of shelves from the reference position stored in the storage as the fork moves.
