Summary: | PURPOSE: A negative active material suppresses the volume expansion of a silicon-based alloy, thereby improving the capacity performance of a lithium battery and lifetime. CONSTITUTION: A negative active material includes a silicon-based alloy. The silicon-based alloy includes a matrix and a silicon nanoparticle dispersed in the matrix. The particle size distribution of the silicon nanoparticle is D10 >= 10 nm and D90 <= 75 nm. A manufacturing method of the negative active material comprises a step of manufacturing a base alloy with a desired alloy composition for manufacturing a silicon-based alloy; a step of obtaining quenching and solidifying the dissolved material and obtaining a quenching solidification alloy; and a step of crushing the quenching solidification alloy.
