Summary:PURPOSE: A method and a magnetic resonance system for the functional MR imaging of a predetermined volume segment of a brain of a living patient are provided to use a functional nuclear magnetic resonance computed tomography, thereby implementing a non-invasive inspection about brain activity. CONSTITUTION: An RF excitation pulse (31) is switched. At least one field gradient is switched. Echo time (TE1) is predetermined. The MR data of a predetermined volume segment is obtained. The echo time is obtained within a period of 10-1000 us.
