Summary:PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for fault diagnosis in a fault diagnosis system are provided to diagnose the fault of home appliances and to repair the broken home appliance by using voice communications. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus (1000) for fault diagnosis comprises a diagnostic module (100), a mobile communication terminal (200), and a diagnostic server (300). The diagnostic module is installed in home appliances to monitor the state of the home appliances and reports a fault which occurs in the home appliance to the mobile terminal. The mobile communication terminal receives monitoring information transmitted from the diagnostic module in a voice communication mode. The diagnostic server receives error data from the mobile communication terminal to identify whether the home appliance is out of order. [Reference numerals] (100) Diagnostic module
