PURPOSE: An embroidering machine controlling device and an embroidery data editing method are provided to reduce working hours by allowing the device to treat embroidery data without using an embroidery data generating program. CONSTITUTION: Embroidering machine controlling device comprises inputting unit, a storing unit, a display unit and a controlling unit. The inputting unit receives external embroidery data which is made up of numbers, characters and images for making design. The storing unit stores internal embroidery data which is added to the external embroidery data. The display unit displays the external and internal embroidery data on the screen. The controlling unit receives the changed data of internal embroidery data, changes the internal embroidery data, combines the external embroidery data with the internal embroidery data to generate final embroidery data.
