Summary:PURPOSE: A mobile terminal and a control method thereof are provided to automatically enlarge the size of content displayed on a display part when a user is positioned outside of a predetermined range from a terminal body. CONSTITUTION: A user tracking part (120) detects at least one of the existence and position of a user within a predetermined range from the body of a terminal. A control part (180) generates a control signal to control functions of the terminal based on at least one of the existence and position of the user. The user tracking part detects at least one of the existence and position of the user by using at least one among a camera, a microphone, and an infrared sensor. The control part controls at least one among display information displayed on a display part and the volume of voices outputted from a sound output part based on at least one of the existence and position of the user.
