Summary:PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of 5-acetoxy-(E3)-3-pentenyl-methoxymethyl ether is provided to obtain 5-acetoxy-(E3)-3-pentenyl-methoxymethyl ether with extremely high E material content and high reliability without using special apparatus or ignitable chemicals. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of 5-acetoxy-(E3)-3-pentenyl-methoxymethyl ether comprises a step of obtaining 5-acetoxy-(E3)-3-pentenyl-methoxymethyl ether by the reaction of a 4-formyl-(E3)-3-butenyl-methoxymethylether and a reducing agent; and a step of making 5-acetoxy-(E3)-3-pentenyl-methoxymethyl ether react with an acetylating agent. A manufacturing method of (E3)-3-alkenylacetate comprises a step of obtaining (E3)-3alkenyl-metoxymethylether by coupling 5-acetoxy-(E3)-3-penthenyl-methoxymetylether with a Grignard's reagent; a step of obtaining an (E3)-3alkenyl-alcohol by treating the product with acid; and a step of obtaining (E3)-3-alkenylacetate by making the product react with an acetylating agent.
