Summary: | PURPOSE: A sodium secondary battery can be operated at a low temperature of 100-200 °C, has high energy density even at the low temperature, and reduces the danger of battery fracture due to the increase of an internal pressure. CONSTITUTION: A sodium secondary battery includes a positive electrode which includes a negative electrode nickel including sodium; a positive electrolyte which is in contact with the positive electrode and contains a sodium salt represented by chemical formula 1; and a solid electrolyte which separates the negative electrode from the positive electrolyte and has sodium ion conductivity. In the chemical formula 1, R is hydrogen or a linear or branched C1-7 alkyl group. In the secondary battery, a net reaction according to reaction formula 1 is conducted. The sodium salt includes sodium acetate, sodium formate, or a mixture thereof. |
