PURPOSE: A personalized augmented broadcasting apparatus and a method thereof are provided to transmit a direction to put an augmented program as well as personalized data in metadata while airing an augmented program and to output augmented content while the broadcasting program is aired through a receiving terminal which has obtains the augmented content related to the personalized data, thereby providing personalized data for a viewer. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting network receiving function of a receiving terminal (901) has a protocol layer which is capable of receiving broadcasting content data. Control logic (905) interprets other data including received basic content, and requests a metadata processing unit (906) to process metadata. The control logic controls augmented content receiving by referring to the metadata. The control logic processes the received augmented content by matching/synthesizing/synchronizing the augmented content with the basic content, and outputs the processed augmented content.
