장관(腸管) 인산 트랜스 포터(NPT-IIb) 저해 작용을 가지고, 고(高) 인혈증의 치료제 및/또는 예방제의 유효 성분으로서 유용한 화합물을 제공하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 하기 식 (I)의 테트라하이드로벤조티오펜 화합물은, NPT-IIb 저해 작용을 가지고, 고 인혈증의 예방 및/또는 치료제로서 사용될 수 있다.(식 중, R은, -0-저급 알킬, -저급 알킬렌-페닐 등이며, R와 R는, 동일하거나 또는 상이하며, H, 저급 알킬, 시클로알킬, 아릴, 헤테로아릴 등이며, 혹은 R와 R는 결합하는 질소 원자와 일체로 되어, 5 내지 7원 포화 환상 아미노를 형성할 수도 있고, R는, 동일하거나 또는 상이하며, 할로겐, 저급 알킬 등이며, n은 0∼2이다). The purpose is to provide a compound which has an intestinal phosphate transporter (NPT-IIb) inhibitory action and is useful as an active ingredient of an agent for treating and/or preventing hyperphosphatemia. A tetrahydrobenzothiophene compound of the following formula (I) has NPT-IIb inhibitory action and can be used as an agent for treating and/or preventing hyperphosphatemia: wherein, R 1 represents -O-lower alkyl, -lower alkylene-phenyl, or the like; R 2 and R 3 are the same as or different from each other and represent H, lower alkyl, cycloalkyl, aryl, heteroaryl or the like, or, R 2 and R 3 may be combined with a nitrogen atom to which they bind to form 5- to 7-membered saturated cyclic amino; R 4, s are the same as or different from each other and represent halogen, lower alkyl; and n represents 0 to 2.
