Summary:PURPOSE: A power consumption reducing method of a terminal and an apparatus are provided to reduce the power consumption of the user equipment (UE) by sending an indication about the data transfer status to the network. CONSTITUTION: An e-node B (101) receives a medium access control (MAC) indication which informs the data status of the UE from the UE. The e-node B decodes the MAC indication. The e-node B checks status of the buffer status report (BSR) among the MAC indication. If the UE is confirmed as the data inactivated status through the BSR status check, the e-node B performs an operation for reducing the power consumption in the UE.
