PURPOSE: A cost stop vehicle and a control method of a cost stop vehicle are provided to obtain acceleration responsivity according to acceleration intension of a driver. CONSTITUTION: A cost stop vehicle is a cost stop vehicle automatically stopping a driving source when a specific condition is satisfied while driving. The cost stop vehicle includes a driving source control unit, a shift gear and a transmission control unit. The driving source control unit controls automatic stop and restart of the driving source. The shift gear is installed in between the driving source and a driving wheel. The transmission control unit controls a gear ratio of the shift gear. The transmission control unit controls the shift gear to set a gear ratio to a side higher than a predetermined gear ratio with respect to a transmission request to an inputted predetermined gear ratio when restarting the driving source. The driving source control unit restarts the driving source in a state that the shift gear is set to the higher gear ratio than the predetermined gear ratio.
