Summary:PURPOSE: An insert seat member capable of being changed for a cutting tool is provided to extend life of a tool body and to improve accuracy of position determination of a cutting insert. CONSTITUTION: An insert seat member(6) which is changeable comprises a tool body and a cutting insert(3). The insert seat member is located between the tool body and the cutting insert. The insert seat member touches the tool body and the cutting insert in touch areas arranged in order not to perform direct touch between the tool body and the cutting insert. The changeable insert seat member is manufactured by powder injection molding.
