Summary:PURPOSE: A stereoscopic image display device is provided to enable a viewer to recognize a stereoscopic image without glasses. CONSTITUTION: A display panel(100) is prepared in a rectangular plate shape having a long side and a short side and represents an image in a predetermined display area. The display panel is equipped with multiple pixels(110) arranged in a matrix shape, and is equipped with a light shielding layer(120) such as a black matrix between each pixel and an adjacent pixel. Pixels having the same color are arranged in the display panel along the direction which is parallel to an arrangement axis(130), and the pixels of red(R), green(G), and blue(B) are successively arranged along the direction which is parallel to the horizontal axis of the display panel.
