Summary:PURPOSE: A tunable terahertz metamaterial filter is provided to provide high frequency selectivity and a radiation of THz range. CONSTITUTION: A tunable terahertz metamaterial filter(100) includes first and second grid wires(120,160), dielectric substrates(110,130), a liquid crystal layer(150), a metallic strip(140), and first and second control electrodes(171,172). The first grid wire and the second grid wire are arranged in parallel. The dielectric substrate and the liquid crystal layer are successively formed between the first grid wire and the second grid wire. Multiple metallic strips are formed between the dielectric substrate and the liquid crystal layer. A first control electrode and a second control electrode are connected to the first grid wire and the second grid wire and apply a voltage to the liquid crystal layer.
