Summary:PURPOSE: A catalytic thermal pyrolysis method of heavy carbonaceous material is provided to obtain light crude oil with high productivity and low cost by accelerating thermal decomposition reaction. CONSTITUTION: A catalytic thermal pyrolysis method of heavy carbonaceous material decomposes heavy carbon source by using a dispersion type catalyst. The dispersion type catalyst is a flexible catalyst, aqueous catalyst, or solid particle catalyst. The dispersion type catalyst is selected from IA, IIB, IIIA, IVA, VA, VIA, VIIA, VIIIA, IB, and IIIB group metals, Si, Ge, chloride, sulfur oxide, oxynitride, or mixtures thereof, and organic complexes thereof. The dispersion type catalyst comprises 10-10,000 ppm of dispersion type metal atoms, based on the total weight of a heavy carbon source. The pyrolysis is conducted at 300-800 °C.
