Summary:PURPOSE: A candle typed ballast water filtering apparatus is provided to form a secret area near a driving shaft to prevent back washing water in a sucking part from leaking to the outside of housing. CONSTITUTION: A candle typed ballast water filtering apparatus comprises a housing, a filtering part and an automatic washing part. A sucking part of the automatic washing part comprises more than a flushing arm which is connected to a filter element(31). An exhaust part comprises a back pressure preventing tank which is connected to the sucking part to form an exhaust line. The back washing water and the polluted particles of the exhaust line are stored in the back pressure preventing tank to increase the pressure in the exhaust line.
