Summary:PURPOSE: A method for managing a memory and an image forming device executing the same are provided to improve convenience in memory management by preventing a case in which other works are not executed for executing an overwriting work in a memory. CONSTITUTION: When a delete command for data stored in a memory is inputted, a memory management device(100) stores location information indicating a location in which data is assigned. When an execution period of the set overwriting work is executed, the memory management device executes the overwriting work for the deleted data by referring to the location information. The execution period of the set overwriting work is an idle state of the memory, a case in which the set overwriting work is not executed in the image forming device, or a power save mode case related to the state of the image forming device. The memory stores a location information table for storing the existence information of the deleted data in clusters or sectors.
