PURPOSE: A portable terminal and a display control method thereof are provided to offer fixed functions of the portable terminal in a lock screen state. CONSTITUTION: A touch screen receives a first touch operation for changing a first screen locking mode into a second screen locking mode. A control unit(180) controls the first touch operation according to the first and the second screen locking modes. When the touch screen is set as the first screen locking mode, the control unit maintains a touch locking state of the touch screen for first touch operation determined by the touch screen. When the determined first touch operation is inputted, the control unit changes the touch screen mode into the second screen locking mode.
