Summary:PURPOSE: A display device and an operating method thereof are provided to prevent the malfunction of a light sensing element by embedding the light sensing element. CONSTITUTION: A sensing signal processing unit is connected with a display panel(300). A gate line(GLk) delivers a gate signal. A sensing signal line and a reference sensing signal line cross the gate line. A sensing unit(SU) senses light according to a touch to the display panel. A reference sensing unit(Sur) is blocked from the light.
