Summary: | PURPOSE: An optical differentiator using a waveguide optical coupler is possible to do first and second differentiation corresponding to a manufacturing condition, thereby improving wavelength selectivity. CONSTITUTION: A different kind wavelength selection optical coupler is used as a coupler in case that a propagation constant of two optical fibers is the same. A differentiator experiment is processed with a light source, a wavelength selection optical coupler and a spectrum measuring device. A result differentiated by both sides of optical fibers is derived after a pulse inputted in the light source passes through the wavelength selection optical coupler.
