Summary:PURPOSE: A monitoring system for greenhouse crops is provided to monitor the growth status or disease occurrence of crops by judging leaf properties and status of the crops by using image information taken in a greenhouse. CONSTITUTION: Image information is obtained by taking photographs of the inside of a greenhouse where a crop is cultivated. The status of the crop is determined by analyzing the image information. The judgment of the image information is as follows: Individual crops are individually recognized from the image information. The status of the individual crop is determined by individually detecting leaf properties of the recognized crop entity. The leaf property of the crop entity comprises color, shape, appearance, existence of a spot, and shape of a spot. The information acquiring steps are as follows: The image information is acquired through crane shots by installing a photographing device in the upper part of the greenhouse. The image information is acquired by moving the photographing device up and down. In the information judging step, a unique site of each crop is separated and determined by analyzing overlapping sites of each crop through the overlap analysis algorithm.
