Summary:PURPOSE: A refrigerator is provided to prevent thermal deterioration of nutrients in food caused by a decrease in the oxygen concentration by decreasing the pressure of a low pressure chamber under air pressure. CONSTITUTION: A refrigerator comprises a receiving part(24), a detecting unit, and a control unit. The receiving part is formed to restrict the movement of gas in a storage chamber. The detecting unit detects the kinds of food in the receiving part. The detecting unit comprises a gas component detecting unit and a specific gravity detecting unit. The gas component detecting unit detects the gas component generated from the food. The specific gravity detecting unit detects the specific gravity in the gas component. The control unit controls the receiving part at two or more different temperature zones according to the kinds of the food detected by the detecting unit.
