Summary:PURPOSE: A bogie train for transferring heavy objects and an operating method thereof are provided to minimize the damage of rails because the bogie train can transfer heavy objects with self-driving thereof with a driving unit. CONSTITUTION: A bogie train for transferring heavy objects comprises a bogie(100), a driving unit(200), and a driving switching unit(300). The bogie moves along a rail installed toward a floating dock. A jack-up cylinder(101) is mounted on the top of the bogie. The driving unit is mounted on the bogie and loads heavy objects on a load beam(102) to generate driving force for moving along the rail. The driving switching unit is mounted on the bogie and is coupled to the driving unit so that the driving force can be delivered to the bogie when the heavy objects are transferred. The driving switching unit blocks the driving force when the driving unit is stopped or abnormally operated.
