PURPOSE: An apparatus for purifying lake water and a method for controlling the same are provided to self-generate the power required for operating the apparatus and to monitor the pollution of water in lakes by measurement of dissolved oxygen in the water. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for purifying water in lakes includes a floating member(110), a water circulating pipe(115), a water circulating fan(119), a fan motor, an air diffusing pipe(122), an air supplying unit(123), a battery, a self-generating unit, a wireless communicating unit, and a controlling unit. The floating member floats on the surface(10) of water in a lake. The water circulating pipe is combined with the lower side of the floating member and extended to the bottom of the lake. An inlet and an outlet are arranged at the water circulating pipe. The air diffusing pipe is installed in the water circulating pipe. The air supplying unit supplies air into the air diffusing pipe.
