Summary:PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for using a tuner in a broadcasting receiver are provided to switch a plurality of tuners according to a condition of a broadcasting receiver and to switch an unused tuner state into a standby state. CONSTITUTION: A broadcasting receiver processes a broadcasting signal by using one tuner(205). If a preset tuner condition is satisfied, the broadcasting receiver selects one tuner(207). The broadcasting receiver changes a tuner for processing the broadcasting signal to the selected other tuner(211).
