Summary:High molecular weight, linear, neodymium-catalyzed polybutadiene comprising a high proportion of cis-1,4-units (more than 95%), a low proportion of 1,2-vinyl content (less than 1%) and a low molar mass distribution index, is new. The polybutadiene exhibits a Mooney viscosity of (ML 1 + 4100[deg] C) of 70-90 and the molar mass distribution index of less than 10. An independent claim is also included for preparing the high molecular weight neodymium-catalyzed polybutadiene.
