Summary:PURPOSE: An air conditioner, a control method for an outdoor unit, and a central control system including the same are provided to upgrade an outdoor unit control program remotely by dividing a drive control mode and an upgrade mode through software methods. CONSTITUTION: An air conditioner comprises an indoor unit(100) and an outdoor unit(200). The outdoor unit is driven by a control program and drives the indoor unit by using the control program. The outdoor unit comprises a drive control mode and a mode conversion part(210). The drive control mode drives the indoor unit and the indoor unit and the outdoor unit. The mode conversion part selects one of upgrade modes upgrading the control program.
