PURPOSE: A compressor side shaft seal of an exhaust gas turbocharger is provided to easily remove and fit a piston ring without damages. CONSTITUTION: A sealing apparatus is formed between a housing(31) and a rotor(R). The rotor comprises a shaft(3) and one or more blade wheels(1). The shaft is placed in a shaft bushing hole of the housing. A piston ring(5) in a spot of sealing piston ring comprises a more large outer diameter than the outer diameter of the piston ring(6) in the spot of sealing other inner piston rings. The piston ring in the spot of sealing an outer piston ring comprises a smaller inner diameter than the piston ring in the spot of sealing of the inner piston rings.
