Summary:PURPOSE: A scalable multimedia service device and a method thereof are provided to perform intrinsic and efficient user viewing condition information with a smaller overhead than the overhead of a digital item adaptation of an MPEG-21 digital item adaptation frame work. CONSTITUTION: A parsing unit(110) stores each element parsed from an integrated document in a stack(116). An operation unit(120) takes a necessary number of elements according to a type. The operation unit stores an operation result in the stack. The parsing unit configures a DCFunction and a mapping table(112) of an API(Application Program Interface). If an API(114) corresponding to each DCFunction is searched through the mapping table, the operation unit obtains a specific DC value from an external terminal through the API. The operation unit operates a result value of the DCFunction.
