Summary:PURPOSE: A switchable image display device and a driving method thereof are provided to generate driving signals of a display panel and a viewing zone panel using a single panel driving unit, thereby reducing the numbers of driving integrated circuits, wires, and adjacent circuits. CONSTITUTION: A system unit(120) generates an image signal and a viewing zone signal. A panel driving unit(130) includes a source driving unit. The source driving unit generates a data signal and a viewing zone driving signal. The data signal and the viewing zone driving signal correspond to the image signal and the viewing zone signal respectively. A display panel(150) displays an image using the data signal. A viewing zone panel(160) is operated by a light transmitting unit or a viewing zone generating unit according to the viewing zone driving signal.
