Summary:PURPOSE: A signal processing device and a method thereof are provided to perform transcoding using an embedded hardware decoder. CONSTITUTION: When a hardware decoder module is in an idle state, a signal processing device decodes specific data which are compressed by controlling a hardware decoder based on set parameter information(S110,S120). The device scales the decoded specific data based on the parameter information. The device stores raw video data and/or raw audio data. The device encodes the raw video data and/or the raw audio data(S140).
