Summary:PURPOSE: A device for driving a standby RAM of a regulator-independent CPU and a method thereof are provided to drive a CPU standby RAM even though a standby power specification is not suitable for a CPU standby RAM. CONSTITUTION: A regulator(110) supplies standby power to a standby RAM of a CPU. A power source converting unit(120) receives the standby power supplied from the regulator. The power source converting unit supplies the standby power to the standby RAM as operating power. The power source converting unit bypasses the inputted standby power. The power source converting unit converts the standby power into a voltage suitable for the standby RAM. The power source converting unit supplies the converted voltage to the standby RAM.
