Summary:The invention relates to a device for storing electrical energy, comprising a plurality of storage cells (12). A switch (16) and an electrical resistor (14) connected in series thereto are connected in parallel to each of the storage cells. At least one switching unit (T) closes each individual switch as soon as the storage cell located parallel to said switch exceeds a specified voltage. There is additionally a time-switch unit (T) that holds each closed switch closed for a specified time after closing has once occurred.
