Summary:PURPOSE: A power management method which has an overvoltage protection function is provided to protect an internal circuit in an overvoltage state by monitoring an external power source with respect to the overvoltage state using a switch which receives an effective power source signal. CONSTITUTION: A switch receives an effective power source signal. An overvoltage detection circuit detects an overvoltage state with respect to an external power source. An overvoltage protection circuit(110) includes a clamp circuit which clamps the external power source. An external power source detection circuit displays an effective external power source signal.
